At this year's InfoComm, DPA Microphones presented a new generation of its renowned 4099 microphone! We are pleased to present the DPA 4099 CORE+ "next-level" instrument microphone!

4099 CORE+ represents the most modern DPA technology for reducing distortion, which enables a wider dynamic range, as well as improved sound transparency. The result of the new technology is an instrumental microphone that not only fulfills all expectations, it redefines them.

DPA 4099 CORE+

In developing the 4099 CORE+ microphone, DPA has leveraged years of customer feedback, as well as its own technical advancements, to elevate the performance of the new microphone to unprecedented levels. With 10 dB of additional dynamic range and a higher clipping point than its predecessor, the 4099 CORE+ captures the full spectrum of each instrument in perfect detail, even in the most demanding environments. The microphone delivers a flawless, natural and undistorted sound with exceptional isolation from surrounding instruments (thanks to a supercardioid pattern and linear off-axis response) and superior off-axis rejection.

4099 CORE+ comes in two variants;

DPA 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL (with a red marking on gooseneck) is used for close miking purposes on most acoustic instruments – from harp to drums and everything in between. The implemented CORE+ technology enables 145 dB maximum SPL with 6 mV/Pa sensitivity!

DPA 4099 CORE+ Extreme SPL (yellow mark on the gooseneck) is used for extremely loud instruments such as drums and brass instruments such as trumpets. Its maximum SPL is 152 dB with a sensitivity of 2 mV/Pa and will be available in late 2025.

Even more reliable

The DPA 4099 CORE+ comes with a new MicroLock® connector and a series of new improved clip-ons that allow for better stability and flexibility of application on any type of instrument. An enhanced shock mount and microphone body design improves isolation from instrument vibrations and stage noise. The company has come up with a completely redesigned microphone mounting system designed for a seamless user experience on an even wider range of instruments. The improved clip-on system improves the acoustic performance of the microphone with greater safety, reliability, impact resistance and the efficiency of the mounting process. The innovative Gooseneck Mount (G-MOUNT) is now even easier to use and can be set up with one hand, and the XLR-MOUNT is new, which expands the functionality and enables the mounting of 19 millimeter pencil microphones or XLR adapters.

One microphone, endless possibilities

The microphone, like its predecessor 4099, is available individually or in a set with a specific clip-on for the instrument. The microphones are available in Classic and Rock sets (4 or 10 pieces) in combination with the appropriate adapters, clips and cables. With it, it is possible to sound from piano to guitar, from strings to brass instruments, accordions, in fact, with one model you can sound the entire orchestra and the 4099 CORE+ will sound equally impressive on every instrument!
