In the world of professional audio equipment, the Danish DPA Microphones occupies a special place thanks to its innovations and undisputed sound quality. Audio engineers and professional vocalists know how important it is to have a natural, clean and precise sound when recording or performing live. These three items are the main characteristics of the DPA microphone. Today we would like to introduce you to all the features and possibilities of DPA vocal handheld microphones, designed for live vocal performances - learn more about DPA 2028 and d:facto 4018™.
DPA 2028 - Outstanding transparency and sound quality
The 2028 is a flexible handheld vocal supercardioid condenser microphone that delivers outstanding transparency and sound quality. It is designed in such a way that it easily copes with all the challenges of live performances. It enables the reproduction of true "uncolored" sound and is therefore very interesting for audio professionals and performers. Its ability to transmit transparent vocals makes it an ideal choice for a wide range of markets, so it is increasingly used for broadcast as well as in liturgical applications. However, above all, it is designed for lead and back vocals.
Directionality, feedback, SPL
The supercardioid capsule with DPA's famous flat off-axis response gives this microphone the ability to naturally capture sound on and off-axis with very high gain before feedback. Smooth supercardioid directivity gives sound engineers an easier way to deal with bleed from other instruments in close proximity.
It has a dynamic range of 117dB so the microphone, thanks to the fast transient response of the diaphragm, easily picks up the peak which makes it easy to place the microphone in the mix. 2028 can therefore handle the extreme SPL (max 160dB) of the most dynamic singers, and with a low self-noise (22dB) it sounds amazing even with "softer" singers. Unlike other supercaridoids, the 2028 has strong damping on the back so that stage monitors do not have problems with microphonics.
A durable wired or wireless option
The DPA 2028 is an extremely durable microphone. The grille is made of black chrome which is hard and robust and can be removed for cleaning. 2028 can be used wired or wireless with a wireless system. The wire version of the 2028-B-B01 has a zinc alloy handle with a chrome finish that is extremely durable. The wireless versions come with adapters for the most popular wireless systems. So the 2028-B-SE2 fits Sennheiser (2000/6000/9000/evolution/D1) wireless systems, and the 2028-B-SLI is intended for most Audio Technica, Lectrosonic, Shure and Sony DWX series.

DPA d:facto™ 4018 – Ultimate stage microphones
DPA's d:facto™ series of vocal condenser microphones are designed for vocal performances on stage. It provides flawless reproduction of every nuance of the human voice in an extremely natural way, transparent, consistent and exciting. Its supercardioid capsule ensures consistent sound whether it's used to perform in an intimate club or in a large concert hall. This is precisely why this series is the first choice of many international and domestic vocal professionals.
Linear or with high-end boost?
The d:facto™ 4018 is actually a modular microphone. Its capsules are available in two versions and are very easy to replace. The d:facto™ 4018VL version is an extremely linear vocal microphone designed for lead vocals. The second version of the d:facto™ 4018V is also a linear microphone, but it comes with amplification (high-end boost of 3 dB at 12 kHz), and precisely because of this boost, it is ideal for broadcast scenarios, i.e. for broadcasting, because it "breaks through" well on the air. , which ultimately results in a better final sound on, for example on built-in television speakers. The rest is the same, both versions bring extremely transparent natural sound, high separation from nearby sound sources and SPL control up to max 160dB.
Wired or wireless solution – You choose
You can use the d:facto™ 4018 with the elegant d:facto™ handle for a wired solution or, like the 2028, choose to use a microphone capsule together with your favorite wireless system. For wireless use, once you buy a microphone and the desired capsule but still decide to use another wireless system, you can simply switch to another wireless adapter for a quarter of the price of a new microphone. Of course without changing the sound quality. The d:facto™ series of handheld condenser microphones work with leading wireless microphone solutions, such as Sennheiser, Shure, Sony, Wisycom, Lectrosonics and Line6.
