DPA 4099 Instrument microphone
Today, DPA 4099 microphones are synonym for superior sound quality and are used by world music and production names. Their condenser technology enables exceptional precision and clarity that results in the most authentic sound of your instrument. The 4099 is a supercardioid condenser clip-on microphone with a polarization pattern and a frequency response of 20 Hz - 20 Hz.
They are designed to capture sound in front of the microphone while minimizing side and background noise. This is exactly what makes them ideal for live performances on stage where the control of "return" is of great importance. It comes in two variants 4099 CORE for Loud SPL, which is most often used on string instruments and 4099 CORE for Extreme SPL, which is the perfect choice for percussion and brass instruments. The microphones are physically the same, only the DPA 4099 Extreme SPL can handle even higher sound pressure levels (maximum SPL) up to 152 dB SPL peak, while the 4099 CORE Loud SPL peak is at 142 dB. This means that the microphone can easily record even the loudest instruments such as trumpet or drums without sound distortion.
The impedance of the microphone is 30-40 ohms and the sensitivity is approximately 6 mV/Pa (2 Mv/Pa 4099 Extreme SPL). The microphones weigh 17 grams and come with a MicroDot connector and an XLR adapter as standard. They can be easily connected to various wireless systems through various additional adapters available in the DPA offer. Adapters provide flexibility of application, allowing you to easily switch to another wireless system without losing sound quality.
CORE by DPA Technology
The 4099 comes with innovative CORE by DPA technology that adds another layer of sound quality, setting this instrumental microphone apart from the competition. CORE by DPA technology reduces distortion and provides even greater clarity and detail across the entire dynamic range. CORE is a must have for every musician and sound engineer who appreciates sound quality. In addition, all CORE by DPA microphones are IP58 certified, which guarantees their reliability, durability and resistance.
Wide range of applications
DPA 4099 microphones are applicable to a wide range of instruments. It is perfect for the violin and other stringed instruments, it gives excellent results when applied to the saxophone and brass instruments such as the trombone, and is increasingly being used on congas and other percussion instruments. They come with plenty of options to easily attach the microphone to the instrument. Thanks to the wide selection of mounting accessories (microphone holders - clip), holders for bass, cello, clip for guitar, piano, accordion, drums, violin, saxophone and universal holder for all other instruments are available as standard, as well as a holder for a microphone stand. An extension MicroDot cable and a clamp mount are also available. The DPA 4099 comes with a two-year warranty.
