With this, DPA expands its portfolio of piano microphone kits, and now you can choose from three different options. Each kit is designed to meet the needs of different users, regardless of whether they are used in live stage or studio environments.

We know that sound engineering a piano is one of the most challenging tasks for any sound engineer, requiring meticulous setup and precise tonal balance to capture the true character of the instrument. With the DPK2015 kit, DPA eliminates the complexity by providing simplicity and speed of setup with DPA precision and sound naturalness, regardless of the type of piano, production style, musical genre or environment in which the microphones are used.

DPK2015 Piano Stereo Kit

The DPK2015 stereo microphone kit is an ''out of the box'' solution for piano sound reinforcement that allows for extremely fast installation and ensures the true sound of a piano. This stereo kit consists of two cardioid DPA 2015 microphones, which have been carefully selected with a sensitivity of ±1 dB at 1 kHz. The microphones are very quick and easy to install and due to their wide pickup pattern have an excellent blend, a natural stereo image and a surprising fullness of sound regardless of whether the piano lid is open or closed.

One kit of multiple possibilities

Although the DPK2015 stereo kit is specifically designed for concert piano, the included DPA 2015 wide cardioid microphones are actually very versatile and can be used effectively on other instruments as well. The stereo pair works particularly well as an overhead on drums, wind instruments (trumpets), xylophones, vibraphones, marimbas and other acoustic sources, while providing a natural and balanced sound.
