In order to provide its guests with a superior audio experience, the client decided to change the outdated audio system. In response to the sent request for a solution, after consultation, inspection of the space and design of the audio system, we offered a solution for the implementation of a new system based on RCF audio components. To our satisfaction, the client accepted the proposed solution, and we soon started installing the system.

The area of Pivana is divided into three parts: the area of the pub with large bar, the area of the restaurant with a stage for concerts and the “union hall”. For the pub area, we intended two RCF NX 910-A professional active sound boxes, which can be used with the RCF SUB 702-AS MK3 for smaller live concerts. Along with the NX 910-A, we installed two RCF COMPACT M 06 two-way sound boxes, which are located above the bar and provide complete sound coverage of the space with the NX series.

We have divided the restaurant space into two parts. The first is an entire restaurant where RCF COMPACT M 06 boxes are installed to serve as a source of background music. The second part is the stage area where we installed two RCF NXL 24-A active two-way line array column speakers and two RCF TTS 15-A 15” active subwoofer boxes for the needs of live performances and concerts. Along with the sound boxes, a Midas DL32 digital stage box with 32 inputs and 16 outputs was delivered, and for the needs of the bands, there is a DPA 2028 supercardioid vocal condenser microphone and an Audix I5 multipurpose dynamic instrumental microphone.

In the area of the “union hall” of the Zagreb Brewery, we replaced the dilapidated sound system with RCF NX 945-A two-way active sound boxes that are located above the stage and with two more RCF NX 910-A that complement the coverage of the space when the prefabricated wall between this hall and the restaurant is opend. The hall is used for the needs of various gatherings and conferences, so for easier control and use, we delivered a MIDAS M32R LIVE digital mixer console, Audix AP42 BP A wireless microphone set with R42 base and B60 bodypack transmitter, and two DPA 4480 CORE directional headset microphones. Radial Engineering USB PRO, usb stereo laptop DI Box was delivered for the needs of presentations on a laptop, in order to make switching easier and to avoid breaking the signal when connecting.

New cabling has been installed in the entire Pivana area, and the central part of this audio system is a rack cabinet in the pub area behind the bar. The rack consists of a digital DSP audio processor XILICA NEUTRINO A1616-X and it is managed via the XILICA XTOUCH 80 wall-mounted control panel of 8″ (LCD). Here Pivana staff can easily switch presets and change sound concepts, for example settings for concert or background sound with possibility of volume control in individual zones. So when a band is performing on stage in a restaurant, it is very easy to redirect the input signal to the speakers (Compact M 06), which are normally used for background sound in pub. Along with the processor, two XTA Electronics DNA 20 digital amplifiers are implemented.

The entire installation of the system was done in a very short time, and after programming the zones and presets and fine tuning, the system was put into operation. The client is very satisfied with the multi-functionality, coverage and sound quality.
