Denmark's DPA Microphones used this year's ISE fair in Barcelona to present its latest innovation – the DPA N-Series Digital Wireless System. DPA N-Series is a revolutionary solution that redefines reliability, flexibility and superior quality of wireless sound.
DPA N-Series Digital Wireless System
After several years of development, DPA presents a true diversity, true digital, true wideband microphone wireless system with proven, true DPA sound clarity! Designed as a solution for live concerts, corporate events, sacred buildings (HoW) and professional installations where it ensures smooth operation. DPA, as always, strives for as natural a sound as possible, so the N-Series Digital Wireless System guarantees uncompromising sound without unwanted "colouring".
Main characteristics:
- Superior sound clarity
- True Radio Diversity – for a reliable connection without interruption
- Wideband – one system for complete flexibility
- Completely digital - without losing quality
- True dynamic range of 126 dB
- Advanced A/D conversion
Unparalleled Wideband Performance and Control
The DPA N-Series brings to the market a massive 400 MHz of flexibility in the 470-870 MHz range. This allows users to easily find clear channels even in very challenging RF environments. Dedicated wideband functionality enables total system reliability anywhere in the world, which is perfect for, for example, touring musicians as well as equipment rental companies. The system can be controlled using the DPA Audio Controller, a software solution that allows for remote system control and monitoring, along with frequency analysis across the system range.
Along with its wideband frequency range, the N-Series delivers a true 126 dB dynamic range that outshines the competition. Unlike many manufacturers that use incomplete measurement methods, DPA achieves the reading in a single measurement without applying level shifts or using limiters. That’s why the N-Series delivers a true 126dB dynamic range, which is industry leading.
What components make up the DPA N-Series?
The complete N-Series wireless set currently includes a DPA N-DR1 Digital Dual Channel Receiver, DPA N-HH1 Handheld transmitters, DPA N-BP1 Bodypack transmitters, and an integrated software solution (DPA Audio Controller software PC or Mac) that brings it all together. All of the above is also available as a separate product.
DPA N-DR1 receiver
The previously mentioned DPA N-DR1 digital two-channel receiver is the brains of the DPA N-Series. The receiver provides 470-870 Mhz bandwidth with an elegant design of the front panel. LAN control is available with built-in network switches that enable loop through, and Dante® Switched and Redundancy modes are also possible. Antenna inputs powers active antennas, and a variant with analog output is available.
Ergonomic and Versatile Transmitters
DPA N-Series bodypack transmitters feature a durable contoured design and come with two connector solutions. The N-BP1-90 bodypack model is compatible with the DPA MicroLock® connector, while the N-BP1-3 transmitter version is compatible with microphones that use a 3-pin LEMO connector. The DPA bodypack provides over eight hours of continuous operation on standard AA batteries, with optional DPA rechargeable batteries also available.
DPA N-HH1 Handheld Transmitters
The DPA N-HH1 handheld transmitters enable the use of DPA's premium vocal microphones. The transmitter has a lightweight design and sits well in the hand. The industry standard SL1 thread allows the use of a variety of capsules with the transmitter. The DPA N-HH1 will be available with the new DPA 2024 capsule (available only with the N-HH1), the DPA 2028 and the DPA d:facto™ 4018V and 4018VL.
